The Next Generation

The Next Generation reading list is centered around "The Next Generation Relaunch," which chronicles events following Star Trek: Nemesis.  The A Time To... miniseries acts as a prequel to these stories, as well as to the Titan series.  In addition to the references noted below, several additional novels, short stories, comics, and audiobooks are connected due to various references in other books, or to other books.  Nine novels are connected by the five crossover series Invasion! (which is referenced several times in the Lit-verse), Double Helix (which ties into the New Frontier and Stargazer series), The Captain's Table (which connects thematically with the Lit-verse spanning Tales From the Captain's Table), Section 31 (which ties into the DS9 Relaunch,) and Gateways (which ties into two Lit-verse series.)

Twelve short stories are also connected, two from Seven Deadly Sins (which ties into two other Lit-verse series,) two from NF: No Limits (which ties-in to the New Frontier series), one from Enterprise Logs (which references several Lit-verse novels), six from Tales of the Dominion War (which ties into four Lit-verse series,) and one from The Brave and the Bold duology (which ties into the Gorkon series.)  Nine novels in other series crossover with TNG: SCE: Many Splendors, NF: House of Cards, SCE: The Belly of the Beast, DS9: Avatar Book 1, DS9: Avatar Book 2, SCE: The Art of the Deal, SCE: Remembrance of Things Past Book 1, SCE: Remembrance of Things Past Book 2, and DTI: Watching the Clock.

Also included are the stories from The Sky's the Limit, which contains stories which tie into the A Time To... series.  Various references in parts of the Wildstorm Star Trek Special, the DC Specials #2-3, Unlimited #1, #4,  and #8,  and the anthology New Worlds, New Civilizations connect TNG stories from those works.  The storylines of McCoy, Spock, and Scotty transfer to the TNG storyline starting with their appearances in the series, and their later adventures are included here.  The TITAN series spins off several characters from TNG onto the USS Titan, but is not included here.

Dark blue denotes the primary narrative.  Read these for the bare bones story.  Skip ahead to the next jumping-on-point to get current faster.  Light blue denotes the expanded storyline.  Read any or all of these to go a bit deeper.  The white denotes every other connected story from the entire Lit-verse, regardless of continuity.  Hovor for notes.
